Autoblog not pulling full text content

Hi,

I installed the plugin two days ago and I can't still get it to pull posts full content. It only pulls the excerpt. (Use full post or an excerpt is marked for Use full Post)

As I am developing, the site is running on my laptop with Ubuntu Desktop, Apache and MySQL. Every WP functions are working smooth except for this.

One feed URL for example: http://lanacion.com.ar.feedsportal.com/ultimasnoticias

Thanks in advance,
Best regards

    Hi @Julianc79

Thanks for posting your question today!

I fired up Autoblog on my test site, added the feed that you mentioned, tested it, and it only imported the title and sub title.

I then changed the URL and used the WPMU blog feed(https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/feed/), I didn't change any other settings, I left everything exactly as it was other than the feed URL and I then processed the feed again.

This time it downloaded the complete article as expected.

So I believe the problem on this occasion is with the feed that you mentioned.

Please try again using the WPMU feed and see how that goes as a test.

I hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

    thanks for your quick response.

As you said with your RSS it downloaded the full article as expected.
Now, I have one doubt. Has the content:encoded tag to be present in the file? and if so, is <![CDATA[ ]]> mandatory for the plugin to be able to fetch the complete data?
Because I have this other RSS file, and I have the same problem :

    http://www.bariloche2000.com/index.php?format=feed&type=rss

    Thanks again,
    Best regards

    Hi @Julianc79

    Thanks for replying.

The <![CDATA[]]> essentially just allows HTML and encoded characters to be rendered correctly when the post is output to your site.

I've had a look at the Bariloche feed and that also only seems to have an excerpt in it.

The problem is that the idea of RSS feeds is to give a snippet of the article, to get people to come to the website and read the full article so I think you will struggle to find an RSS fee that contains the full article.

If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask

    Cheers,
    Mike
