AutoBlog Questions for Permalinks

Two quick questions related to AutoBlog being used on a landing site for a network of 30 Wordpress sites.

First -- If we're importing posts from legit sites within our network, any reason to check the "Ensure this link is a nofollow one" on the feed settings?

Second -- If we have installed the "Use External Permalinks" add-on, is there a way to set that at the FEED level? For example, SOME feeds would have the content reside on the import site but the rest link to their original site? Seems like an all or nothing right now.

    Hey Dave,

Hope you're doing well today and thanks for your questions!

First -- If we're importing posts from legit sites within our network, any reason to check the "Ensure this link is a nofollow one" on the feed settings?

nofollow is just a rel attribute to tell Google you don't want to pass any "link juice" or page rank to that site. It's often used for paid ads, affiliate links, that sort of thing. So, if you don't want your link to benefit that site then add nofollow

Second -- If we have installed the "Use External Permalinks" add-on, is there a way to set that at the FEED level? For example, SOME feeds would have the content reside on the import site but the rest link to their original site? Seems like an all or nothing right now.

Yes, it currently is an all or nothing feature, but I can see how this would be useful, I'll add it as a feature request

In the meantime, let us know if you have any further questions.

    All the best,
    Tyler

Thanks for the *very* speedy reply. This is very helpful.

Definitely a checkbox on the Add Feed/Feed Edit screen or something to disable or enable the link to Permalink vs house the content on the site would be great. Right now it's not an issue, but if we did have a feed where we wanted to bring in full content we would have to use a different RSS import plugin or WP All Import vs just using Auto Blog for it all. Hopefully that can be enabled soon.

Thanks again and have a great weekend.
