"Blogs" directory not showing?

I have the "Daily" theme and for some reason the "Blogs" link in the menu does not go to the "Blogs Directory as shown in demos. There was no Directory page for the blogs. I created a page called "blogs" but it is only showing as a blank page. The groups page is fine and allows members to "create group" but the blogs never has existed for me. How do I fix this so that I have a blogs directory? I have wp 3.5.1; bp 1.6.4 and have installed for multi-site. Please help.

    Greetings JHoward66,

    Welcome to WPMU DEV!

Sorry to see that you are having an issue with your WordPress installation and the The Daily Theme.

The first thing to check is to make sure your theme installation has been properly installed in the applicable Parent/Child configuration as described here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/front-page-blogs-picture-and-text-not-visible-only-subject-is-visible#post-217131

Unfortunately i cannot replicate the issue your are having as demonstrated here in my test production server: http://aecnubp.us/

This makes it really hard to figure out what is going on there but lest try to figure it out and no I did not create a "Blogs" page which was automatically created with the theme installation and indeed exists in my admin dashboard --> Page listing.

I have added a post though. Have you created any posts?

Are your permalinks set to anything but default? Preferably "/%postname%/ ?

Please reset them by virtue of clicking save changes and then retest.

What is the URL to this site?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

Thanks for the response. I had the permalinks set to "date and name" I changed them to postname as you suggested but still no change. The site is at http://jhoward66.ipage.com/quill-n-ink . I have the menu that I set up that has a link to "Blog" and this works and goes to the normal site blog page. Yes there are posts there. However, The "Blogs" link in the bottom row of the menu is "supposed" to go to a blogs "directory" as in the demo at http://themetastic.com/buddypress/?wptheme=BuddyPress%20Daily . I do not want a "site directory" but only the "Blogs Directory". And By the way, I have tried several other themes (and yes the child was installed and activated per site) and no themes seem to work bor blog directory. I can only assume the is some kind of error in the codes somewhere???

    Greetings JHoward66,

Support tickets are indeed handled in the order in which they are received and by aging - therefore depending on the flow of tickets and other variables delays happen.

In this case the bump of your own ticket does NOT appear to have delayed this ticket by a whole lot fortunately i.e. aging.

With the loss of three WPMU DEV staff members in the last couple of weeks and the hiring of I think at least six more, in which four are for support staff exclusively, I think it will take a bit for the new folks to get acclimated and we will recover in turn around times with less aging of tickets.

Digging into your last post explaining what is going on with your WordPress installation, I checked those two pages and with the exception of the word blog versus site I cannot find any difference what so ever in functionality.

If this is indeed over the wording we can fix it in a flash with the Ultimate Branding plugin specifically the included Network Wide Text Change module and as demonstrated on my production server: http://aecnubp.us/blogs/

And I have included a screen shot below of the settings I used therein.

Let me know if i am on the right track and this item is handled or?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe
