BP Social theme stripping size deminsions from the image for the intro header

In page speed I get the following:

The following image(s) are missing width and/or height attributes.

http://myblog.stevenwsmeltzerp.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Manta-Ray-Trio.jpg (Dimensions: 375 x 248)

I deleted my image and emptied cache and purged my CDN and received the same message when the default image is being served.

It appears that the theme is deleting either height or width information.

when I look at the html with firebug it shows:

<img alt=”header” src=”http://myblog.stevenwsmeltzerp.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Manta-Ray-Trio.jpg”>

with no height or width information.

The other images from my recent posts have

<img class=”feat-post-thumbnail ” width=”350″ height=”auto” or

<img class=”feat-post-thumbnail alignleft” width=”80″ height=”auto”

I have authorized access to my site if you need it.

    I went to the Editor for the theme and I found this

    #custom-img-header {

    height: <?php echo $tn_buddysocial_image_height; ?>px;

    }

    in Theme-options.php

    I do not see a width attribute and I am not sure if I can simply add the height and width here?

    Hello there @steven, I hope you’re well today!

    Not including the image width and height is not an issue and is a fairly common practice!

    It just means that the browser has to calculate the width and height of the image, which only takes a couple milliseconds so I wouldn’t worry about that. :slight_smile:

    Cheers,

    Ari.

    HI Steven!

    Actually, you’re working with some outdated info, here. Since the current best practices in web design are for responsive sites, the width/height attribute may actually work against you, as an image with a hard coded size will not scale for smaller screens.

    Not including the width/height in the html is smart design in 2015, and should in no possible way affect your Google page rank.

    I went to check your link above, and it appears that page is missing, I got a 404 error.

    Thanks!
