BPDaily – Changing default image header size to 970 by 200px

I read this thread that is closed:

It seems the files have changed since then, so it is not easy to find what I need to get this done. Of course i found custom-header.php and saw how that can be edited.

define( ‘HEADER_IMAGE’, $headerpath ); // %s is theme dir uri

define( ‘HEADER_IMAGE_WIDTH’, 970 );

define( ‘HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT’, 80 );

The issue I have is there header space is still not allowing this now larger image when I change to 200. Any help with that would be appreciated.

    Greetings johnpent,

    Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!

    Just to clarify what is going on for resolution …..

    When you change the following to 200 it does not change the height.

    define( ‘HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT’, 80 );

    Are you doing this in the individually uploaded to themes child site?

    Cheers, Joe :slight_smile:

    I did the change here:

    I fully understand using child themes, however, I usually test in the main theme, install the original files and make the final changes via child theme.

    define( 'HEADER_IMAGE', $headerpath ); // %s is theme dir uri
    define( 'HEADER_IMAGE_WIDTH', 970 );
    define( 'HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT', 200 );

    function bp_dtheme_header_style() { ?>
    <style type=&quot;text/css&quot;>
    #header { background-image: url(<?php header_image() ?>); }
    <?php if ( 'blank' == get_header_textcolor() ) { ?>
    #header h1 a {display: none; }
    #header h1 a:visited {display: none; }
    #header h1 a:hover {display: none; }
    <?php } else { ?>
    #header h1 a {color:#<?php header_textcolor() ?>;}
    #header h1 a:visited {color:#<?php header_textcolor() ?>;}
    #header h1 a:hover {color:#<?php header_textcolor() ?>;}
    <?php } ?>

    function bp_dtheme_admin_header_style() { ?>
    <style type=&quot;text/css&quot;>
    #headimg {
    position: relative;
    color: #fff;
    background: url(<?php header_image() ?>);
    -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 6px;
    -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 6px;
    -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 6px;
    -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 6px;
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    height: 100px;
    padding-top: 25px;

    That is the code as I presently have it.

    Thanks for getting back so quickly.
