[Branda] SMTP not working

I’ve gone through the whole email configuration (SMTP Authentication) and even involved my hosting provider to validate the settings.

They (NameCheap) stated that everything looked fine on their end.

However, the test emails are not sent showing:

“Failed to send the test email. Please check your SMTP credentials and try again.”

    Hi Robert

    Hope you are doing great. :slight_smile:

    I was working on your case and found that the SMTP username or password is incorrect. For your reference I have tested the credentials in a different SMTP plugin ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/ )

    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO test.*****.xyz
    CLIENT -> SERVER: AUTH LOGIN
    CLIENT -> SERVER: TWFjaDEwMUBsYW1ib2xhbWJvbGFtYm8uY29t
    CLIENT -> SERVER:
    SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535 Incorrect authentication data
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.CLIENT -> SERVER: QUIT
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

    For double confirmation i checked the same configuration in my email client Thunderbird Mail (https://www.thunderbird.net/ ) and found the same “Username or password Invalid” can you verify if the credentials are right and then update them in Branda and have a test?

    You could also verify the credentials using these tools or any other SMTP plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/smtp/

    Please do have a check and let me know your views. :slight_smile:

    Best,

    Aditya,

    Thank you for your reply. I conferred with my hosting company once more and thus looked back into the information I was using for authentication. It turns out that I was using the wrong Port number for authentication as I got confused with some of the details in their documentation. I have since then made the correction and have submitted a successful test email, so hooray, problem solved! Thank you for helping me with this issue as well as helping me gain a better appreciation for this Plug-In and the Community.

Thank NAME, for their help.
