BuddyBar To WP Bar For Admin?

I have tired a few functions.php methods, but everything I try, such as:

if( current_user_can('administrator') ) {

define( 'BP_USE_WP_ADMIN_BAR', true );
}

or

if( current_user_can('administrator') ) {

define( 'BP_DISABLE_ADMIN_BAR', true );
}

…all seem to completely remove all bars, leaving no bar at all. But what I want is exactly this:

Change the BuddyPress Bar back to the normal WP Admin Bar only for the administrators.

Thanks!

    Why would I want to do that? All I am trying to do is specify that for myself (I am the administrator) to not show the WP admin bar instead of the BuddyPress Bar. I just want my WP admin bar back, but I want all the users on the site to see the buddypress bar.

    Does that make sense?

    This is what finally worked for me (and what I wanted, sorry for confusion)’

    Put in wp-config.php:

    define( 'BP_USE_WP_ADMIN_BAR', true );

    I finally got the courage up to try this in my config file instead of with a conditional function, and the result was the same buddybar, only styled just like the WP admin bar, but also with the WP admin bar features added back in with the buddybar features. If a user is not an admin, they will not get the admin bar features that only apply to admins, but rather the buddybar features that apply to them.

    THIS IS GREAT!

    Now if I can get this /forums redirect issue out of the way, i’ll be set.
