BuddyPress Group Documents Plugin– Documents List Disappeared

I know that this is potentially outside your areas-of-expertise/help, so I apologize in advance if I am wasting your time.. After editing the category of a previously uploaded document (under the Documents tab created by the BuddyPress Group Documents plugin) in one of my groups today, the document list for that group, including the drop-down list to sort categories, disappeared, and was replaced with the “no documents have been uploaded to this group” screen. However, I can still upload documents, and the documents are referred to in my activity stream — the “no documents have been uploaded to this group” screen still remains, though. The links to previously uploaded documents also still work. Also, all of my other groups are unaffected.

I tried reinstalling Group Documents, and nothing changed. This warning, however, appears on my dashboard in the Group Documents section (whether it has always been there, or is in any way related, I wish I knew): Warning: opendir(plugins/buddypress-group-documents/uploads/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-group-documents /include/admin-uploads.php on line 26.

I would appreciate any advice you have to offer! Happy 4th.

Not had any experience with that plugin I’m afraid but I’ll see what I can do to help and hopefully others will chip in with suggestions…

First thing you should do is disable all other plugins (except BuddyPress of course) and use the default theme and see if the issue persists.

That error you posted also indicates that there are plugin files missing, damaged or otherwise inaccessible. You should check that all the plugin files have uploaded properly and that they have the right permissions.

Let me know how you get on,

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for the help. After no further effort on my part, this morning the Documents list appeared again, though the formatting was slightly off. Bizarre. I uninstalled and reuploaded the plugin, however, and now that warning has disappeared, so hopefully all files are where they should be.

I really appreciate your assistance. Thanks again!
