Buddypress HTTP ERROR when a file is uploaded cover image on a member's profile.

For some reason when I upload a new cover photo to my buddypress profile, It shows a result: HTTP Error: I can see the files in the correct folder on the server, so it doesn’t appear to be a permissions issue.

I’ve read a dozen different “solutions” at a dozen different sites – but ultimately, no response. *sigh*

    Hi BigCat ,

    Hope you’re doing well today!

    1) Can you enable the debug flags in your wp-config.php to check the errors saved?

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

    It will be saved to a debug.log file inside the “wp-content” folder. Can you share it with us?

    Note: Save the file as a .txt, because the .log extension is not allowed in the attachments.

    2) Could you follow the flowchart of the below page, just to make sure that it’s no other plugin conflicting with this?

    3) Have you tried increase the values of the “memory_limit” and “max_execution_time” variables? There is some methods to do this, so, I think this article may help you:

    4) Can you check with your host provider to confirm that you have the PHP GD extension enabled?

    I hope this information has been helpful. If I can help you in this or other questions, please let me know!

    Cheers, Luís

    Thanks for the quick response, and sorry for the very slow acknowledgement.

    Since I posted the thread I increased the upload and file size limits. Plus my server got hacked, so the site was deleted in fear of a trojan or some nasty plugin. *sigh*

    I’ll defs be keeping your instructions for the next time something goes wrong though. Thank you. :slight_smile:
