Buddypress vs WP Multisite with new membership plugins only (friends+communities+messaging+forums)

Hi, I am creating a site that will allow users to create blogs, with standard needs for membership control and such. I have buddypress on my test site, but am confused - what is better - to have just WP and use these new plugins:

"Alongside that we've developed alternative functionality for sites that would prefer not to use BuddyPress, including:

A fully functional 'friends' plugin: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/friends

A powerful communities framework, with wikis: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/communities

A complete messaging component: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/messaging

A custom forums solution: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/forums"

Or, to use BP? I want payment integration as well....any thought on what the major differences are regarding this choice, to buddypress or not to buddypress?
Thanks in advance,

It's definitely a good thing that you're asking this question now - before you begin your site. Ultimately, it's up to you and what specific features and functions you want your site to have. For me, it always goes back to the User and what I want them to do and experience while at the site. Do your users need all the functions of buddypress? Just because you CAN add a feature doesn't mean you SHOULD. BuddyPress does a good set of community-building features and it's still a relatively young product. It has come along way and has an active development team so you can expect more good things down the road. Dunno if that helps, but that's my 2 cents on it. Good luck! We'll be here to support ya - whichever solution you decide is best!
