Can coursepress handle large audiences? Over 30k user per course?

Given the proper hardware configuration, can coursepress hold large audiences per course?

With probably 10k users per course. many of this users would work concurrently.

    Hello Luis N,

I hope you are well today. This is an excellent question.

To answer this question it might help to understand a bit more about CoursePress and how widespread it is used. You can learn more about that at the following link:

What you’ll need to consider is CoursePress is as scalable as the platform it is hosted on. CoursePress, at its core, is essentially custom post types and taxonomies. There’s more to it than that, but that’s the basic idea. So, the real question is how scalable WordPress is.

To answer that question, take a look at the following article on Some of the most notable sites on the Internet, like ESPN, TechCrunch and BBC America all run on WordPress. These sites easily exceed 30,000 users.

So, since CoursePress essentially is a collection of highly customized post types and taxonomies in WordPress, if you configure your hardware to accommodate a large audience, CoursePress should be more than capable of keeping up.

Note: Many major universities trust CoursePress or our hosted services for their online LMS services.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

    Best regards,

    James Morris
