Can I create my own paypal buttons for Pro site levels?

Hi,
Ive been reading on the forums about customising the level tables that ProSites create and its not very customisable, however Im thinking what about creating my custom pricing table and add paypal buttons that are configured each to each level. Since its lines of code that is added to the paypal button, and the IPN etc to add people to each level, I wanted to ask if this is possible and if theres a workaround this.
Maybe even add it as a suggestion since it will allow to have custom buttons wherever we want on our sites to promote upgrade to another level.

Thanks for your help

    Hi @Victor

Yeah, a more customizable checkout form is something that has been asked for before, and I believe it is on the list of improvements for Pro Sites. However, I cannot say with any certainty whether it will be coming sooner or later.

This post should give you an idea on how you can add custom content to the existing form:

However, the form, like anything else on the front-end of your site, can be re-styled with CSS.

    Hi Patrick
Thanks for your answer. Hope this feature comes soon to pro sites.

But I thought about the paypal buttons that can be built with the extra fields on the button code to create the subscription and the meta that would be needed by pro sites to return it so it creates the upgrade.

Do you think this would be doable? This would give a lot of freedom, for example on the main sales page I only want to show 2 leves, free and pro. to make things easy.

But after they are Pro I want to have extra levels with extra plugins.

So my thinking is that adding meta to the paypal button shouldn't be too difficult, or would need big development

    Thanks again

    Hi again @Victor

From what I gather from the developers, simple PayPal buttons wouldn't work because they don't allow for more complex programmatic stuff like cancelation, modification, upgrades, refunds, etc.

    Thanks Patrick
I understand, may be a great way to do it if is the developers can provide us with some short codes for buttons.
So wherever I want a button for level 1 use this short code, may be even with variables like the locale that is passed to paypal etc...

Thanks for your help it was really helpful

    @Victor

I'm not really sure if we'll be going that way with Pro Sites, because the question that raises is: where would such buttons be used?

In a custom checkout page? That is coming.

On existing sites in your network? A button that links to the checkout page is already available in the WP toolbar.
