Can I rename WP-Admin for entire WPMU network sites?

Hi there heroes!

A few months ago I asked for a plugin that could rename and block wp-admin url. Nastia advised me to use Protect Your Admin, but I'm afraid it is not compatible with WP Multisite.

I'm also using Pro Sites and I'd like to block and rename WP-Admin. Is it possible?

Thanks for your feedback!

      Hi there Rupok!

Thanks for the hint, Better WP Security seems like a powerful and useful plugin.

Even tho I was able to hide /wp-admin defaults, after Login it's still using /wp-admin url.

Could you confirm is there's another way to completely change the /wp-admin url, or maybe if i'm missing some option that allows that on BWS?

Thanks again for your patience.

Hi Urbano, hope you had a wonderful day.

Even tho I was able to hide /wp-admin defaults, after Login it's still using /wp-admin url

I believe that's good enough for securing brute force attacks because brute force attacks are made to destroy login system or find the password. But obviously there are other ways of doing this and I believe, our users can give you more and more ideas if I move your thread to our Members' forum. Do you want me to move your thread? Please confirm.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

Hi there Rupok, once again thanks for your help!

I believe that's good enough for securing brute force attacks because brute force attacks are made to destroy login system or find the password.

Security is important, but we also want to mask Wordpress as much as possible. I believe most of our users will use their-primary-domain.com/our-admin for their blogs, so it's important we have a branded slug instead.

(...) our users can give you more and more ideas if I move your thread to our Members' forum. Do you want me to move your thread? Please confirm.

I'll accept any help we can get here, this is really a first for us.

After some research, I've found this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-hide-security-enhancer/
I can't tell if this is WPMU compatible, we are going to test it. Do you have any feedback about this plugin?

Once again, thanks for your time on our questions. Keep up the good work!

        ### Quick update ###

After some research, I've found this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-hide-security-enhancer/
I can't tell if this is WPMU compatible, we are going to test it. Do you have any feedback about this plugin?

I have figured out this Plugin is also not compatible with WPMU.

After more research, I've found another Plugin compatible with WPMU, but it seems like it's not compatible with Domain Mapping Plugin (another huge problem for us). Please check this link for reference: https://github.com/iseulde/rename-wp-login/issues/20

Is there anyway we can have WPMUDEV Domain Mapping integrated with this plugin? This would be really helpful.

I know it won't be possible to have a plugin update right away, so I would appreciate any suggestions you can provide in a "hard-coded" work-around to get this working, since we are giving our best to launch our website as soon as possible.

Once again, thank you very much for all help and patience.

    Hello Urbano,

I'm back to Better WP Security, is there any feedback about incompatibilities with Domain Mapping?

I found that older thread about problems with domain mapping and Better WP Security when using "Hide-backend" feature https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/force-httphttps-conflict-with-ithemes-security-hide-backend

Is this a WPMU limitation or also not possible on a single site installation?

From what I see on this plugin page http://wpplugins.tips/product/hide-my-wordpress-pro/ - this one is able to change also wp-admin for loggedin users.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
