Can MarketPress plugin works with Templatic e-Commerce Theme?

Hi,

I've recently set up an e-store using Templatic e-commerce theme.

However, I'd need multiple shipping options ie. Free, Local, Registered, Overseas etc. at point of checkout which the theme does not support.

Understand MarketPress have some shipping options which I can try out.

Question is, the Templatic theme comes with the e-commerce plugins/features in-built, will adding additional plugin like the MarketPress override the feature ... or rather, how can the checkout page know and add this extra shipping fees?

I need help from you guys and I've tried using WP E-Commerce Extra Shipping Options plugin but it doesn't seem to work with the template.

Thanks and best regards, William

    Hi William,

Those types of shipping options would have to be accounted for by MarketPress. As there's not currently a shipping module that would do what you're requesting, it would have to be custom developed at this point, something you might consider seeking a developer for or posting to the job board on.

To help though, there's a shipping plugin template in the MarketPress folders, if you feel comfortable with coding, yourself. Plus, the existing flat rate shipping plugin can help for reference on how a complete shipping plugin should look and work.

There's also an enhanced flat-rate shipping plugin posted at the following thread from the forums.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi David,

    Thank you for your reply.

I'll take a look at the MarketPress shipping template to see if I can edit it to what I want.

However, my query is - will the MarketPress plugin works since the Templatic theme is in-built with the current e-commerce features?

I've tried to load shipping option plugins from the WordPress plugin directory but I couldn't see them after I've activated them. I'm suspecting it's because of the theme which "ignores" subsequent plugins I'm trying to activate.

    Please advise. Thanks.
