Can users break their site by changing the URL slugs?

If a user manages to visit the presenation tab under settings, then alter the url slugs, won't they break their site?

    Hi there,

I think what you're asking about is the Permalinks, which are set under Settings > Permalinks of a given Wordpress site. If I'm correct in that assumption, then, no, they won't break their site. What permalinks to is interpret database information and present it in a certain way. This stuff gets added to their site's url, which is something that users cannot change. In fact, sometimes switching the permalink settings is the best way to clear up an error related to finding a page that you know is there!

Let me know if I misunderstood your question.

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Heyo Pali!

Thanks for getting back so fast. I think I left out a pretty major part to this question ... marketpress.

For those that don't know, MarketPress provides users with a variety of options. The particular set of options I'm talking about can be found under "Store Settings" and at the bottom you'll find "Store URL Settings."

It's at this page I'm concerned users could dabble with the url for a specific page, like products, and wipe out the page they need to sell products.

Is there something available to prevent this?

    Cheers!

But they're available to each store owner aren't they?

    While using marketpress:

Products > Store Settings > Presentation

Here, the store owner can control the look of the store, coupons, shipping information & tax, and paypal info. In addition to these options is the topic of my question -- the url slugs.
