Can you domain map www subdomain

I've been looking through the forums and there were quite a few topics but most were quite old.

I have one of my subsites wanting to domain map to the subdomain www level.

Can you do both an A record for top level AND a CName for the www?

They had a previous website using the www - when I domain mapped the top level domain with A record it goes to new site; however, if you add the www prefix it takes you to old site.

What needs to happen here?

    Hi @antKat,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

I have notified the plugin developer and my colleague @Jack Kitterhing to get his invaluable reply here as my experience with Domain Mapping is limited.

He will reply on this thread shortly.

    Have a great day!

    Thanks,

    Hi there @antKat,

Hope you're well today and thanks for your patience on this.

Using domain mapping, it should allow and direct both the www. and non www. versions of a domain to point to the same place, without actually needing to map both, as it's handled as a combination between your .htaccess your the sunrise.php file.

Could you let me know the sub domain your trying to map the domain to and if the subdomain is based on a sub.www.domain.com? Or did you mean sub.domain.com, if you could advise about the exact structure, I'd be happy assisting you in getting this resolved.

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
    Jack.
