Can't add https:// domain to domain mapping

Hi there,

I use the Domain Mapping plugin and I can’t add the mapped domain with https:// only with http:// . I set the Domain Mapping settings to force HTTPS but this has no effect. If I want to add the domain with https:// I get:

Domain name is unavailable to access. We can’t access your new domain. Mapping a new domains can take as lite as …….

The subsite it concerns is https://aprosites.nl/shcn-de/

Thank you for your support,

Tom

I want to add that when I mapped the http://shcn.de domain in the Domain Mapping I can’t access the frontend by entering shcn.de. Also I get a writing permissions error from WP Rocket. That it can’t create rewrite rules. This probably has to do with the http and https issue. When I remove the http://shcn.de from the mapped domains, the error disappears.

    Hi Tom,

I could see the issue, I tried clicking the key symbol in the mapped http domain, and it toggled to force https. However, I could notice that even with http, or in https, the mapped domain isn’t working. When I enter your mapped domain in the browser url, it’s being redirected to your WordPress primary site, ie https://aprosites.nl

How you did you configure this? I checked your website, and entered your server IP in the browser URL. If you are using a dedicated IP, it should open your primary site, but that isn’t the case here.

Please check the plugin usage section for more info:

Also I get a writing permissions error from WP Rocket. That it can’t create rewrite rules.

Please check whether your .htaccess has the default permission of 644. If not, please change it to 644, and it should work fine.

Please advise if I’m missing anything here, so that we could help get you sorted asap. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin

    Hi Nithin,

Sorry for my late reply, but I decided to stop with Multi-site as this seems to0 error prone when using plugins which probably aren’t that good tested with multi-site. And as a WP Rookie with limited resources in time and budget this for now the best strategy.

    Cheers,

    Tom
