Can't map a domain to a subsite set in multidomain

Hello dear support staff.

I’m creating a multisite network on http://www.bloserver.com

My issue is that after adding another domain (http://www.miraiserver.com) as selectable in the multidomain, tried to map the same domain to http://www.bloserver.com/miraiserver-home but I can’t.

The error I get is that (miraiserver.com) it is an invalid domain.

Is there some way to use the same domain as multidomain and map it to a subsite?

Thank you for your help!

    Hi there @jose

Welcome to WPMU DEV, glad to have you aboard!

First thing is the note that you may have missed at the top of the usage page:

Multi-Domains is for sub domain installations only and will not work well for subdirectory installations.

As for your question, the answer unfortunately is no. The Multi-Domains plugin simply makes an additional domain name available for selection when creating a subsite in an existing multisite network. So it basically maps that additional domain name to the main domain name of the network.

That means that if you add domain2.com to a domain1.com network, you could create a subsite under domain2.com, but it would in reality still be a part of the domain1.com network.

Thank you Patrick for the answer.

I’m sorry I missed that note.

Fortunately Multisite was working quite well on subdirectory installation till now.

Do you think this incompatibility with subdirectory installations will be corrected in the future?

Anyway I will stop using this plugin in my project.

    Thank you!

    Hello @jose

I hope you are well today.

Do you think this incompatibility with subdirectory installations will be corrected in the future?

I think this is a limitation, otherwise it would be added. But, I am still marking this as a feature request, I hope the developer will take a look for that option

    Cheers
