Categories relationshop

You will see from the attached, Listing category relationships appear correctly in Listing Categories admin page [see fig A], and in public instances, but not in Listing pages [see fig B].

Can this be fixed? It could potentially really confuse people into incorrectly associating categories. Because of the management problem this could cause, we are even considering having to steer the categories to be named and managed differently to work around it.

Anybody else seeign this?

We are usign WordPress 3.3.1 and Directory 2.0.3

    Hi again BlueHorizons :slight_smile:

    I so see it and it’s strange, for sure.

    What is different about Cat Boarding vs Dog Boarding to make it show in the selector like that?

    Did you add them differently?

    I think this might be a clue to what is happening.

    Best,

    Kimberly

    Here is the markup that is generated (incorrectly):

    <ul id="listing_categorychecklist" class="list:listing_category categorychecklist form-no-clear">
    <li id='listing_category-18' class="popular-category"><label class="selectit"><input value="18" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-18" checked='checked' /> Cat Sitting</label></li>
    <li id='listing_category-20' class="popular-category"><label class="selectit"><input value="20" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-20" checked='checked' /> Dog Sitting</label></li>
    <li id='listing_category-34'><label class="selectit"><input value="34" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-34" /> Boarding</label>
    <ul class='children'>
    <li id='listing_category-29'><label class="selectit"><input value="29" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-29" /> Cat Boarding</label></li>
    <li id='listing_category-21' class="popular-category"><label class="selectit"><input value="21" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-21" /> Dog Boarding</label></li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li id='listing_category-35'><label class="selectit"><input value="35" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-35" /> Sitting</label></li>
    <li id='listing_category-44' class="popular-category"><label class="selectit"><input value="44" type="checkbox" name="tax_input[listing_category][]" id="in-listing_category-44" /> Vacation</label></li>
    </ul>

    You can see it is actually a structural output problem. Seemingly children association is not working right.

    Greetings BlueHorizons,

    Recently we had a change in staff and we have a brand new developer whom has taken over the Directory plugin project.

    Though it may take him some time to get acquainted with the plugin, we anticipate a more streamlined version of this very plugin coming out soon.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Please advise if the situation has changed.

    Cheers, Joe
