Change image urls

So I have a thousands of images with english product names. For some reason during a transition I lost the other image languages. I also lost the memory of what app or tool I used to make it work.

Essentially I want to change:

To Swedish:

They have the same SKU/ID "19931"so that is How i tracked it and matched everything the last time.

Is there an app? Do you have a solution?

    Hi Marcus,

Maybe you could give the following plugin a try, and see whether it fits your needs:

The mentioned plugin provides an option to add different images based on languages:

Other than that WPML seems to provide an option to translate same image files:

Please do note that since these are 3rd party plugin I haven't extensively tested it out, it's up to you to test, and see whether it helps to cover your needed changes. Please let us know if you have any further query. Have a nice day ahead.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Nithin,

Hope all is well with you and the team. I have translatepress but not the addons. I tried them for another reason (seo) but it was not helping. The image addon here is for changing text IN the image. What I am saying is the FILE NAME. Which is equally as important and if not more for seo. You should see the amount of image traffic I got before switching to this new system (shopify to woocommerce).

In shopify I could just overwrite that product id with a new image url and the system would fix the rest.
I cannot do that here. Unless I go through the trouble of uploading all product images to another server, making sure I can match them with each product and pull their urls.

So anyway...I think you misunderstood the problem.

    Hi Marcus,

The image addon here is for changing text IN the image. What I am saying is the FILE NAME.

Sorry, maybe I'm missing something. Not sure what you meant by text in an image, you meant alt text?. If yes, the plugin allows changing both alt text, and also file name.

When checking the plugin docs shared above, it does state the plugin helps with uploading different images based on different translated languages. So, you could upload the same image by renaming the file name like(19931-Bambu-Duschdraperi..jpg) so the image with translated filename gets loaded on the translated page.

Doesn't it work as it's listed in the docs? If not, could you please check whether WPML docs shared above helps to cover your requirements?

Other than that, I'm afraid, there isn't any out of the box settings regarding such workflow, and would require custom development. Would recommend checking with Translatepress support to see whether they have any workarounds, or suggestion regarding this too:

    Kind Regards,
