changing IP address on domain mapping plugin

I run a multisite. I upgraded my server and my ip address has changed. All the sites I mapped previously are pointed to the previous IP address but evidently they have been forwarded to the new ip address and the domains display correctly.

I am about to map a new domain to the upgraded server - if I change the ip address in my domain mapping settings will I break my previously mapped domains?

    Hey kathrynjones,

If I remember correctly, your mapped domains are added as add-on or parked domains within your cPanel and pointed towards your multisite install folder right?

If that is the case then you don't need to worry about that IP either way.

I checked both IP's and neither of them would actually work with A record mapping, at least shouldn't since they both go to a SiteGround splash page instead of your install. So I think you must have add-on/parked domain mapping method.

So by the looks of it you should be fine to change that IP to your new one

Any further questions/concerns just let us know.

    Cheers,
    Tyler
