Chat plugin - How to hide non administrator accounts on "Active Users List"?

Hello!

I just want to ask if it is possible to show only the administrators on the Active users list?

Or if not, just hide guest visitors? We want the users to have chat access to the administrators only.

    Hi @Weblet,

    Or if not, just hide guest visitors? We want the users to have chat access to the administrators only.

    I'm sort of confused on your question. Via the existing chat settings you can limit who can see and participate in chats. If you go to Chat > Settings Page then to the Authentication tab you can control the WordPress user roles, Public, Facebook, Google+ from being able to see Page chat.

    If for example you uncheck the Public option then public users will not be able to see or participate in chat sessions.

    If however you want to do what the title of this thread reads "hide non-admin from the Active Users List" this cannot be don't directly with the settings. You can do this with some CSS added to your theme.

    If you want to do this for all chat sessions you can use the following:

    div.wpmudev-chat-box .wpmudev-chat-module-users-list ul.wpmudev-chat-users {
    display:none; }

    Hello Sir!

    That's what we have done yesterday. We hide it via CSS but we think it not the way it should be. But anyway we think its alright now.

    ( Another Question: Just tell us if we must create a new ticket for this )

    If the administrator is not online, the visitor cannot chat anyone. We know they can leave a message and we can read it as the administrator logged in to site. But if you can tell us how to do this.

    1) How can we add an instruction to the visitor that if no administrator is Available? Maybe a line of text that will tell them to just leave the message on the chat box.

    2) How can we get the emails of the visitors?

    Thanks!

    @Weblet,

    Seems you are getting into a common feature request area here. you are wanting to use the Chat plugin as a support tool. When the current chat is really a group chat tool used to host chats by multiple users at once. Sort of like a chat room.

    If the administrator is not online, the visitor cannot chat anyone. We know they can leave a message and we can read it as the administrator logged in to site. But if you can tell us how to do this.

    Via the front-end settings the moderator (admin) can close the chat. Meaning other non-moderator user cannot post.

    1) How can we add an instruction to the visitor that if no administrator is Available? Maybe a line of text that will tell them to just leave the message on the chat box.

    Not really a good way to do this. Again as the moderator you can clear the existing chat message and enter a new one.

    2) How can we get the emails of the visitors?

    At the moment you cannot. At least this is not easily available. The emails entered by the Public user is stored into the chat database table. But if you are using Facebook, Twitter, Google+ we do not have access to the user's email address.
