Comments Plus - Comment not posting to Facebook users wall

I have Comments Plus installed on a single wordpress site but though the comment posts on the WP site it does not post to the facebook wall of the user.

I followed all of the steps with creating the Facebook App - the only issue I cam across is that the domain name would only accept http://www.mydomain.com not http://www.mydomain.com/news which is where the WP site is set.

I'm using this plugin on 4 separate sites (not wpmu sites) under the one domain, so all under sub-directories. Could this be an issue?

    Greetings puregoldmarketing,

Thank you for this great question in which it appears that you already have given the answer.

I'm using this plugin on 4 separate sites (not wpmu sites) under the one domain, so all under sub-directories. Could this be an issue?

There are a few issues here that could be causing any portion of the problems you are experiencing not limited to but including:

Using a sub domain in your Facebook app i.e. http://www.youdomain.com --> The www is indeed a sub domain expression, anything preceding the TLD is a sub domain.

Another issue is that the domain must match exactly with what is registered in the Facebook app for it to work correctly.

4 separate sites without 4 separate apps could be an issue though I am not sure since they are still under one domain but all in sub folders so there is also not an exact domain path match.

And last but certainly not least, it could be Facebook itself as reported recently by a Facebook Developer they have 866 unresolved issues at the moment:

Due to Facebook admitted issues it makes it extremely hard to pinpoint exactly where the problem is at.

However, it is in our best interest to get each possible issue out of the way so when Facebook does get it together we are all up and running.

Personally in an effort to get this working, I would make each one of these sub directory sites a sub domain and then create a Facebook app for each of them and this would possibly stop the current issue.

Please let me know how it goes if you try out my suggestion above.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member and have a GREAT upcoming weekend!

    Cheers, Joe
