Configuring Membership 2 Pro to show login/register on protected content page

I am testing Membership 2 Pro on a Dev site and can’t get it to work as I hoped. I feel like I’ve tried everything. The Dev setup can’t be any more basic: one free membership set up, one page protected. It’s running on a multisite installation with Buddypress.

What I am trying to accomplish is that when a protected content page is accessed without the proper membership, they get the default message AND they get the option to login right there or be redirected to the membership selection page (followed by the registration page). If they login on that page, it would be great if it simply stayed on the originally requested page they were trying to read.

Sounds as simple as can be but I can’t get it working to save my life. Help!

    Hello @randy

    Welcome to WPMU community!

I hope you are well today and thanks for asking the question.

It does exactly the same. Do you have any plugin that deals with login redirect? Or any code?

When an user logs in at your site, where does it redirect in your site? What happens in membership is disabled?

    Please let us know.

I believe all you need to do is edit your Protected Content page and add the shortcode:

    [ms-membership-login show_note="no"]

You can set show_note to yes obviously, but I don’t like that it always says “you must login to view this page.

You should then have 2 shortcodes on that page like so:

It should look something like this:

p.s. Sorry for the necro post, but this is exactly what I was looking to do and figured this might help others searching as I was.
