Conflict Marketpress with Events Manager Pro

Hello, I have been using Events Manager Pro (http://eventsmanagerpro.com/) for around 2 years. After switching from WP Ecommerce to Marketpress in April, I no longer have access to the menu items for Events Manager Pro from WP Admin. I can only see them when I disable Marketpress.

I did disable and test all other plugins and this is the only one that creates the problem. In addition there is one other plugin where the menu disappears as well but I never use it. With Events Manager Pro I add and change events a few times per week. This is becoming very tedious to disable or work my way around the issue.

Is there some way to make them both work together so I can access the admin menu for both? I can get around the code, but am not a real programmer to figure this out or make a hack for it.

Thanks

    thanks for the post.

can you try enabling WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php

let us know what/if any errors are displayed.

also try hitting ctrl+shift+J in firefox/chrome and see if any errors are listed in the console.

i will flag the developer for some feedback depending on the errors if any.

    thanks.

I do indeed see some errors in debug mode. However, I'm not sure they are related to this or another problem I'm having:

Strangely when I view the functions file it doesn't show the tags referenced above.

My next problem may be related to the above... not to change topic, but on checkout there is an error that reads:

There was a problem finalizing your purchase. Line item 1 is invalid. I have authorize.net configured but is this a problem with the first 4 error messages?

Thanks for looking. I'm checking into each line to see what I can figure out.

Ok, after some searching I figure out this issue: Line item 1 is invalid. It is related to Authorize.net only allowing apparently 30 characters in the item name. Bit of a problem but we'll work around that. But I still have the plugin conflict preventing the admin menu from displaying the Events Manager Pro links. Thanks for your help.

I could still use some help with this. I still cannot get the Events Manager Pro links to show up in the Wordpress admin while Marketpress is enabled.

Please let me know how I can troubleshoot this or if there is some way to hack it to work again.

I'm not sure why I can't get any reply about this here. Marketpress is the most frustrating experience I've had with WP in years.

I have tried everything to make a workaround. However, even when I get a link to display to the Events Manager Pro pages, the do not work and only show this error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

This ONLY happens when Marketpress is enabled. I have turned off caching, role scoper and anything else that could affect permissions yet nothing solves this. If I can't get this working in the next 24-48 hours I'll have to find another cart.

    hiya

    sorry for the delay.

the marketpress notices should disappear once you have set them in the authorize.net gateway settings.

but the has_cap error i'm not sure what's causing that, it could be a plugin or theme. does the error disappear when marketpress is deactivated?

let me flag the developer on this for a bit more insight.

    thanks.

Hello and thanks for taking a look. I'm not a programmer so it is hard for me to really understand the problem. All I know is whenever Marketpress is on, the event links are hidden. My site is going on three years old with lots of updates of plugins, dropped plugins, etc. so who knows what the issues could be.

What I did find was another plugin, Admin Menu Editor, which allowed me to re-create all the links in the admin so I can now see them. As a bonus it let me customize the menu for other non-admin editors and contributors.

Since no one else seems to have this problem, consider this closed as I have a workaround.

Thank NAME, for their help.
