Conflict with Rockettheme Panacea or Gantry?

It seems the Subscribe by Email plugin disables the Panacea Settings tabs. I've deactivated and reactivated it, and it definitely knocks out the template settings controls.

The site is multisite with multi-db enabled.

Is there a workaround for this?

    Hiya,

    Do you mean on the front end or admin? Can we get a link to this and see it in action?

    I'm not familiar with the Panacea Theme - so it's hard to know exactly what you're referring to. However, there's no reason why this plugin would interfere with a theme settings tab. Can you check for any javascript errors? That'd be my first hunch as to why something would stop displaying.

    Thanks!

    Hiya Specialist,

    Thanks for the additional information - my bet is still on a javascript conflict with that theme in the admin (this is very common) but unfortunately I can't test this out myself.

    Let's look at a couple other things to verify whether it's a javascript conflict:
    1. Try other browsers - which browsers, specifically (FF4, IE9, etc) does this happen in?
    2. Using FireFox, grab the incredible FireBug tool (it's free) and activate the scripting tab. When you reload the page with firebug open, it will alert you to any javascript conflicts - this way you can confirm the js error and copy it here. We can then point you in the right direction.

    Our plugin uses the approved WordPress method of calling javascript:

    wp_enqueue_script('scriptaculous');
    wp_enqueue_script('prototype');

    My hunch is that the theme isn't doing so correctly and is causing the conflict when both the theme and plugin try to load the same js.

    Thanks!

    The error at the topError: "throw $continue" is deprecated, use "return" instead also appears in Network Admin Plugins when I network activate the Subscribe by Email plugin but does not appear when I network activate thw Wiki plugin for example.

    The same thing happens whether the Subscribe by Email plugin is activated on a per site basis.

    The same thing happens in IE8 as well.

    The site is no longer using Multi Database. I pulled it down and rebuilt it using a single database. It is still MultiSite.

    Hiya Specialist,

    I hate to say it - but honestly, this seems to be a coding issue with the theme. There's no reason for all of those javascript errors (you really don't want to have any!)

    I would contact the developers of the theme as it seems they are not following very standard WordPress coding methods.

    Honestly, it'll probably be better to chose another theme from a different developer entirely. Note that I have no personal experience with this theme or company - but if you switch to the default theme (or any correctly coded theme) I think you'll find that all of these errors go away and things work normally again.

    Sorry we can't assist further!
