Confusing with Domain Mapping

Okay I have 3 different domain names on the same account. I am doing a little by little.

If I have something like http://www.mysite.com/subsite1
I want someone to see this at subsite1.mysite.com instead of ugly subdirectory.
I was able to bring up subsite.mysite.com but it redirects to http://www.mysite.com/subsite1.
I want subsite1.mysite.com to stay on the address browser .

How can I do this?

    Hello Karen,

I hope you are well today.

This can be accomplished fairly simply.

    * First, in your hosting control panel and create your desired subdomain (subsite1.mysite.com)
    * When prompted for what directory to point this domain, point it to the root directory of your multisite install (like public_html).
    * Next, go into your Network Admin and navigate to the dashboard of the subsite you want to map the domain to.
    * Go to Subsite Admin -> Tools -> Domain Mapping
    * Map the subdomain you created to this subsite.

The following screencast will walk you through the entire process. Please keep in mind that it may take a little bit for DNS to update: https://goo.gl/8D93bA

I hope this clarifies a bit.

    Best regards,

    James Morris
