Content Copier issue: displays / doesn't display photos across site in random manner

We are running Wpmudev multisite and using content copier to post throughout network. Our concern is Images will display, then can vanish , then come back for no apparent reason. They may display fine on one site then not at all on next within same multisite.

Our Setup:
We have two servers at rackspace with load balancers and stand alone database with varnish. Server web 01 stands as primary and web 02 balances and mirrors directly following.

We have contacted rack space and spent several hours looking for possible clues but everything is leading back to content copier plugin.

Note: we can create a new post on any site within the network and contents and images work without fail.

Q 1. Have you found similar issues with setups like our own?

Q 2. Can it be possible to push a post in draft status? We are trying to overcome scheduling issues arriving from timely stories.

We appreciate any direction you can give.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for posting on the forums.

    While I haven't heard this issue before, I have called in my lead developer @Ignacio to see if he has got any ideas on why its happening.

    Q 2. Can it be possible to push a post in draft status? We are trying to overcome scheduling issues arriving from timely stories.

    Its not possible to move a published post to draft, but it can copy the post in exactly the same status that is in from the site you are copying.

    So if you have scheduled a post on the main site, it will be posted as scheduled on the subsite as well.

    Lets wait for @Ignacio to respond on the first part of the problem. He should be around soon.

    Cheers, PC

    Hi @robert.

    If the images are copied to the new blog, then the plugin is fine, it does not make any additional stuff after the post is copied. Try to copy a post with images and check if they are copied correctly in the uploads folder. If they are, then everything is working fine and the problem is in another place. Maybe a cache system?

    Also, you can set a copied post as a draft with the following code (place it in a new plugin and activate it, it won't work in a theme unless you copy it in all themes):

    add_action( 'mcc_copy_post', 'myfunction_name', 10, 3 );
    function myfunction_name( $source_blog_id, $post_id, $new_post_id ) {

    	$args = array(
    		'ID' => $new_post_id,
    		'post_status' => 'draft'
    	);
    	wp_update_post( $args );
    }

    Regards.
    Ignacio.
