CoursePress zip field purpose

CoursePress has a 'Primary File' fields when adding zip object to units that I don't quite understand the purpose. If I add the link to the same zip file it returns a 404 page.

    Hello Thomas Knight,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

A .zip file is an archive file, often consisting of a multiple files that were compressed and packed up into a single archive. When you extract an archive, you see those files as separate files.

The Primary File field is to specify which of those files inside a .zip archive is a "main one". The ZIP Object module attempts to actually serve extracted archive to the student and the file specified in the "primary file" field (the file must existing inside the .zip archive) will be loaded.

This is especially useful if you for example want to give them, let's say, a whole static website to check: you can then zip all html files, set "index.html" as a Primary File.

If you only want them to simply download an entire .zip archive, it's better to use the "File Download" module instead.

    I hope that helps!
