Custom content in 'Subscribe' widget?

Is there a way to manually add content to the ‘Subscribe’ widget?

We’d like to add a call-to-action and some promotional text around the Name & Email fields, but the widget is very limited.

Can we hard-code some enewsletter widget code right into our sidebar (which is already highly customized)?

Thanks!

    Greetings 3RING,

I have no idea if you folks can accomplish hard coding customizations into your widget area or theme sidebar or not.

Since this is probably not the answer you were expecting, could you please rephrase what you want to do?

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!

    Thanks Joe, OK…

We’d like to add a call-to-action and some promotional text around the Username & Email fields of the ‘Subscribe’ widget of the ENewsletter plugin. Currently the widget just displays the Title of the widget, and fields to enter username and email, but no option to add text above or below those fields.

Is there a way to manually (or not) add content around these fields in the ‘Subscribe’ widget?

Yes, we have php and WP customization capabilities. Just looking for a ‘best suggestion’ here.

    Greetings 3RING,

May I suggest using the widget title for adding in the pre-text that you want to appear before the pre-fille in “Subscribe to our Newsletters”. I as surprised when testing this just how much text can be put in there.

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings 3RING,

Just checking if this issue was eventually resolved in another thread? Or by yourself separately to us? Or by us over email with you? Or using our live support?

If so, no need to reply, that’s great news.

If not, or you have any more questions related to this thread, please feel free to post them below including any new symptoms or errors and tick the ‘Mark as Not Resolved (re-open)’ box below the post area (or else we’ll miss it!)

Otherwise, happy days, glad you got it sorted

We have decided not to use this plugin for this project. It had too many inadequacies and was not very customizable – the client ultimately killed it because the user management side was pretty much non-existent, you can’t even search the names or emails of people who’ve subscribed. Gone back to Constant Contact in this case.
