custom wp-content directories.

I have a warning in > Network Setup

Warning: Networks may not be fully compatible with custom wp-content directories.

should i be worried if i customized my wp-content directory?

    It's really not a good idea to use anything other than the default. The core and most plugins, themes, etc. rely on the default structure. When it comes down to it, you can customize it if you want, but 99% of the time it's way more trouble than it's worth.

    What are you trying to achieve by customizing it? Maybe there's another way to achieve that.

    Thank you for the great question.

    I agree with Gabe that changing these folders is not a good idea for all the reasons Gabe gave above and more.

    But as Gabe also mentioned basically is why?

    I admit I am really curious as to why someone would do such a thing and not only consider the consequences, have no idea what those consequences would be.

    Please advise, there may indeed be a better way to accomplish the same goal.
