CustomPress – does this CMS include Frontend Editor???

Hi there,

1) this ‘Request Support Tool’ does not list CUSTOM PRESS PLUGIN to select installed product as subject. Any reason for that?

2) Wondering, if I’m going to install this complex CMS system on a sub domain, is it possible to install an additional third party plugin to enable FRONTEND administration to enable visitor of my site to contribute and fill this website with their content?

3) Instead of installing a third party plugin (e.g. FRONTIER) does WPMU Dev have such a feature in its repository?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Prinz,

I hope you are well today and thanks for posting on the forum.

CustomPress – does this CMS include Frontend Editor???

Currently not but you can try using the following solutions to achieve it.

front end editing of custom press content

    1) this ‘Request Support Tool’ does not list CUSTOM PRESS PLUGIN to select installed product as subject. Any reason for that?

I am not sure i understood your question so could you please describe it a bit more in detail so that i can help you?

    2) Wondering, if I’m going to install this complex CMS system on a sub domain, is it possible to install an additional third party plugin to enable FRONTEND administration to enable visitor of my site to contribute and fill this website with their content?

Yes it’s possible by using the following solutions.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-post-frontend-plugins/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-frontend/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-frontend/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/front-end-only-users/

    3) Instead of installing a third party plugin (e.g. FRONTIER) does WPMU Dev have such a feature in its repository?

Currently not but there is already a feature request created for this feature and this feature may be added in future version of plugin but We don’t publish ETAs to prevent disappointment if a deadline is missed(which in plugin development quite a frequent occurrence!).

    Thanks for prompt reply.

Now, regards bullet point 1) missing the list entry…. best you follow these steps to understand my question:

    Go to WPMU-DEV Dashboard

    Request Support…

    Ask a question…. fill out form fields…

    – Subject e.g. Custom Press, does this plugin have xxxyyyzz?

    – Select Installed Plugin

—> at this point, selection of CUSTOM PRESS not possible, as it is not in the list.

However, regards your response including links: Many thanks for that. Very helpful… much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi Prinz,

    Thank you for your reply.

Now, regards bullet point 1) missing the list entry…. best you follow these steps to understand my question:

I followed these steps and could select the CustomPress plugin in the from drop down as displayed in the attached screenshot.

I logged in to your site using support staff access and could confirm the CustomPress plugin is not displaying in the drop down of the form on your site because the CustomPress plugin is not installed on your site and the plugin selection drop down only displays the list of plugins installed on the site.

Please advise if you have more questions.

    Cheers,

    Vinod Dalvi
