[Defender] add ddos protection and other features to defender

It would be awesome if you added Accelerate, Pen Testing and DDoS Protection to Defender.

    Hi cornelius_butler,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Can you please explain a little bit more about your suggestions? For example, what type of penetration testing you want in the Defender plugin? By default, the Defender plugin tries to find out all the vulnerabilities on your site. You can scan your files with it. It will try to find out if there is any malicious file or code on your site. It will also suggest you about security tweaks. You can lockout with 404 and different other parameters so attackers can't do high volume attack on these aspects. You can also rename the login URL with Defender.

Common 3 steps in Penetration Test are Scanning, Exploitation and Mitigation. Defender scans your site, shows you the exploits and the suggests you the solutions for mitigation. So can you please suggest us in details what other aspects you are expecting from the Defender plugin?

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make an online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources. So do you want to set any parameter where a single user can access your site for a specific number of times?

Please share your ideas in details. We will surely forward those to our developers and discuss with them. And I really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you for sharing these ideas with us

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Hey cornelius_butler

DDOS protection would be impossible for a plugin to accomplish with any success, it needs to be done at server firewall levels & even that can't fully guarantee to stop it, it would be pretty useless in a plugin IMO. Even Cloudflare can't stop a full-on sustained DDOS attack. A plugin may block an IP, but it can't prevent the server itself acknowledging the connection & sending a response, so in effect, it can't prevent the DDOS from denying the service.

Thank NAME, for their help.
