Defender audit logging problem

Hi,
I have Defender installed and I had Audit Logging working such that it was telling activity on who had tried to access my dashboard.
However ths has now stopped working.
The message on Audit Logging says that it is activated but there is a red message stating: The Site Url field is required,The Date From field is required,The Date To field is required

Thus I am not no longer getting any reports
When I click on configure report nothing happens.

However the Automated Scans are still working and I am just allowing this to default to my Site URL
What is not clesr from teh error message is whether the configurable settings for Audit Logging are the same as for Automated Scans, and if so wht the defaults work for one and not the other.
Can you please help me to get this working correctly.
