Did Smush It Smush the Profile Avatars?

I've been running this multisite for over 3 years with the same template theme. We are using the admin's profile avatar (126 x 126) on homepage. I've recently re-activated Smush It on network and now all of the profile images are displaying smushed with the width correct but height is only 62px. What can I do to fix this? There are 125 active sites and all that I checked are doing the same. You can see the problem here: https://demo.usingessentialoils.com

    Hello antKat,

    I hope you are well today.

    I just checked the link you shared and I'm seeing that the image natural size is 128x128 and the img height and width attributes are set to 128x128. But, something is resizing the image to 128x66. See screenshot: https://goo.gl/ozQigH

    However, Smush does not do this. Smush does not change the dimensions of images except for the Resize original images option which is usually set to a rather large size. See screenshot: https://goo.gl/AARYlh

    Looking at the settings on your site, I see this option is set to 1024x1024, so that is not likely the problem.

    I also inspected the CSS and did some tinkering around in Google Chrome DevTools. I found the following CSS that is causing the problem. See screenshot: https://goo.gl/BPmqlL

    If you update your CSS to the following, this should resolve the problem:

    .testimonial .testimonialImg {
        width: 126px;
        /* height: 126px; */
        padding-top: 1px;
        padding-bottom: 50px;
        border-bottom: 0;
        border-top-width: 9px;
        border-top-style: solid;
        float: left;
        background-color: transparent;

    Basically, all you need to do is comment out the conflicting height: 126px; declaration.

    I hope this clarifies a bit. Let us know if you have any further questions. We'll be happy to help!

    Best regards,

    James Morris

    Hi James,
    Thank you so much for going beyond and trying to help with this. The network of sites is 3 years old and the css for the theme hasn't changed in regards to the Profile Section for over 3 years.

    I made the change you suggested and it did not fix the problem. However, I think I may have found where the conflict is coming from. We had to replace another plugin that aggregates event content from multiple sources; It is a Pro Sites premium plugin so it is not active on all of the sites. Now I see that the only sites showing the smushed profile image are those that have the new Events plugin activated.

    Thanks for you help. I will close this ticket.
