directory plugin when people sign up they were never asked to pay?

I don't see when they pay... going through the process myself all I got was a sign up form and then I subscribed to the site... but no request to pay anything. No option to pick various user level. It was just like signing up without the directory plugin. A normal wordpress sign up? So when does the payment thing happen?

Also, where the plugin puts sign up forms and listing forms etc is on the default page template which looks terrible. How do I set this to a decent page template?

    Hello there webcontrol,

Thanks for posting on the forums.

The directory plugin does not ask for payment while one is simply registering for the site.

It happens when one is trying to post a listing. It will then ask them to choose a payment method and the make a payment according to your settings.

Also, where the plugin puts sign up forms and listing forms etc is on the default page template which looks terrible. How do I set this to a decent page template?

The Directory plugin uses the default template from whichever theme you are using, and puts its content on the page.

Creating a custom template for this plugin is a little more complicated than creating one for a page.

Here's a great post from another member who did a fabulous job on his site:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-to-style-the-directory-listings

The sign in and signup page files are visible here : ~plugins/directory/ui-front/general/page-signin.php & page-signup.php

I hope that helps. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions on the same and we will be around to assist you.

    Cheers, PC

at best i get "You do not have enough credits to publish your listing. Please purchase more credits. Your Listing has been saved as a Draft."

But I am looking to get: Subscribe for X per month for X listings or something

Do you know of any plugnis where users have to pay monthly to sign up to a specific user role... so they pay on the front end before completing their sign up to the site?

Site visitor > pays > site subscriber

With the directory I have to let them sign up first for free?? That is not what I want. I want them to pay to join the directory... not join the directory and then perhaps one day use it and perhaps one day pay to list something.

In that case, you can try our membership plugin with directory. In membership plugin, users need to pay during registration. Here are couple of threads with some good explanation:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/wordpress-directory-and-membership-plugin-integration
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/membership-and-directory-plugin-integration (about custom role too)

Hope it helps  Please feel free to ask more question if you have.

    Cheers

the reason you want a new ticket is it is better for search engine indexing... I don't like writing wmpu's content for them! I'm here for support. My members do not get dashboard access. Another fail unless you can provide the link that appears in the dashboard and then I can use that to hard link them from their profile to the tickets page... if one exist... or perhaps the whole process is in the dashboard.

    Hi @webcontrol

Sorry for the confusion here. Do you really think I have requested you to create another thread for search engine indexing? I can confirm you that this is not the reason.

Well, I didn't ask you to write content for us! And of course you are here for getting support and we are trying our best to help you. When you created the topic, the directory plugin is tagged as the question was that plugin related. Now, in a community most of the members first search in the forum for related topic. As you are now moving to Support & FAQ related question, so I requested you. So that, if any member needs the same information, he can get it easily. A community doesn't mean one-to-one support, it's many-to-many support, though definitely we staffs are bound to provide a possible and perfect solutions. That's how a community works. I apologize if there is any misunderstanding.

So, about the main point, in support plugin, everything is handled from back end or dashboard. But you can put a link of the backend support menu in front end, but you need to do it manually. You can set the link in menu or in widget or in anywhere.

So, if you site url is http://domain.com then the link of dashboard support menu will be: http://domain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ticket-manager

And the link for FAQ: http://domain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=support-faq

Please feel free to ask if you have any more question.

    Cheers

Sorry for the confusion here. Do you really think I have requested you to create another thread for search engine indexing? I can confirm you that this is not the reason.

That's a ridiculous notion, the content gets indexed regardless. Keeping it on the same thread wouldn't affect that.

It's a simple fact of organisation and keeping things simple to save confusion. If multiple staff address a ticket it's easier to read a few posts and understand the issue (especially if some are fixed, some are not) rather than several plus and confuse issues which only serves to frustrate everyone.

We also maintain internal stats on plugins, the amount of support tickets they get each day, week, month, per release, response times from opening to each response and to resolving.

It makes sense if you really think about it rather than assuming we're just out to get you making Google juice for us, this way continually check what needs attention the most.

The largest benefit is when it helps other members with the same or similar issue. Makes it nice and clear for them.

Here are the guidelines for you to follow:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/getting-support/

Now please go open a ticket for a new and unrelated issue to the original purpose of this thread.

I'll get this one closed up for you.

    Have a great weekend!
