Display issues with the Events plugin

I'm having a few issues (and have a query or two) on the Events+ plugin...

Issues
--
The main events page isn't showing anything... http://allanderchurch.org.uk.s218979.gridserver.com/events/

I can get this page working using a shortcode... http://allanderchurch.org.uk.s218979.gridserver.com/calendar/ – but the navigation doesn't work

Questions
--
1. Is it possible to show a list of events rather than a calendar grid?
2. If I don't want RSVPs (ie. just a standard calendar) is there a better solution that setting the event to 'Expired'?
3. Is it possible to make the map wider and change the zoom setting?

Thanks!

    Hello Jon,
    I hope you're having a beautiful day!

    The main events page isn't showing anything... http://allanderchurch.org.uk.s218979.gridserver.com/events/

    1. Is it possible to show a list of events rather than a calendar grid?

    By default Events+ only shows events for the current month. I've enabled the Default to all events add-on in Events -> Settings -> Add-ons and it should be working now (in a list view, not as calendar ).

    2. If I don't want RSVPs (ie. just a standard calendar) is there a better solution that setting the event to 'Expired'?

    You can turn off the RSVP showing on the front end from your Events settings page via Events -> Settings -> Plugin Settings Then make sure the Display public RSVPs option is not checked.

    That removes the list of who has RSVP'ed.

    To remove the buttons just add this to your theme's CSS:

    .wpmudevevents-buttons{
    display:none;
    }

    You can either use a child theme, or add the CSS with a plugin like : https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

    3. Is it possible to make the map wider and change the zoom setting?

    You can enable the Events Maps Options add-on from Events -> Settings -> Add-ons. Then a new submenu will appear under Events -> Settings for the add-on. There you can set your desired size and zoom.

    Let me know if these work for you!

    Cheers,
    Denitsa

    Hi Jon,

    Any ideas why the navigation isn't working here... http://allanderchurch.org.uk.s218979.gridserver.com/calendar/

    Do you mean that when you click on the event name in the calendar, it's not taking you to that event details page? I clicked on one event I was taken to the Event details page. I've created a video screencast showing this: https://monosnap.com/file/J1rMIjiz15VLhU9La0F36WCUxzhAHi

    Am I missing anything here?

    is there a way to show dates, venue info. etc. on this list?

    Yes. To do this, please go to "Dashboard > Events > Settings > Appearance Settings" and put check-mark on "Override default appearance?" option. Then select "Plugin: Default" option in the "Archive template" dropdown. That will show details for each event on the archive page.

    I tried the 'weekly event calendar' add-on but then got this.

    I just activated the weekly event calendar addon and then used the shortcode on a page. But I didn't get any fatal warning like yours. I even tried with "Default to all Events" and "Events Maps Options" but still no fatal error. Please check the attached screenshot for reference.

    So I think, this is your site specific issue. Just to make sure no other plugin is causing this, can you please do a plugin conflict test? To know more about plugin conflict test, you can check this guide: http://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/getting-support/

    Please let us know the result of your plugin conflict test. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and resolving this issue as soon as possible.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Thanks!

    Navigation – by this I meant the buttons either side of the month name which I assume should enable me to go forward to the next month or back to the previous but they're not working.

    Showing dates/venue etc. – unless I've misunderstood this isn't working. I checked those boxes and it still looks the same on the front end. I was hoping to not just have the title in the calendar grid box but some basic info about the event too.

    Weekly Calendar – seems to be Yoast SEO that's causing the issue. All works fine with that deactivated. Do you have something similar in your plugins?

    Hello Jon,
    I hope you are having an awesome day!

    Navigation – by this I meant the buttons either side of the month name which I assume should enable me to go forward to the next month or back to the previous but they're not working.

    I'm sorry for the confusion here! It seems that the links are leading to the right pages, but they're not loading (check when you press Open in new tab on the previous month arrow ).

    Did you try a plugin/theme conflict test as suggested by Rupok above? Is this not changing when you revert to a default theme and deactivate all plugins?

    Showing dates/venue etc. – unless I've misunderstood this isn't working. I checked those boxes and it still looks the same on the front end. I was hoping to not just have the title in the calendar grid box but some basic info about the event too.

    These show when you hover over the chosen event like so:

    This way they don't clutter your calendar.

    Weekly Calendar – seems to be Yoast SEO that's causing the issue. All works fine with that deactivated. Do you have something similar in your plugins?

    We have the SmartCrawl plugin which provides SEO. You can see its usage here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/smartcrawl-wordpress-seo/#usage

    If the above don't work for you, can you please grant support access from the dashboard plugin so we can take a closer look at your website?
    This could be done via Dashboard - WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access -> Grant Access or by following this guide here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/wpmu-dev-dashboard-enabling-staff-login/

    Kind regards,
