Dixi Theme nav.css override

I really like the Dixi Theme and use it frequently in a mulitsite environment with multiple stylings. I use different colors for the nav menus on different sub-sites. I just updated to version 2.1.6 and found a new file, nav.css. It overrides one of my styling options in the child-style.css. It may override others, but this is the only one I have encountered.

Line 33 - background: #333333;

#nav li:hover {
	position: relative;
	display: inline-block;
	float: left;
	color: #FFFFFF;
	margin: 0px;
	padding: 0px;
	background: #333333;

I've tried using the hover code in the child-style.css. I tried copying the nav.css file into the child theme folder, but no luck. The original nav.css file take presidence. I don't really want to edit the nav.css in the original theme, because that defeats the purpose for having children (that does work, by the way!)

Any ideas?
Thanks! Chuck S.
