Do subscribers

Do subscribers to a free BLOG have to signup again when the BLOG is monetized? After a subscriber pays for a subscription, is their beginning paid level or date range set manually by the site administrator?

    Hello Sharon!

    Thank you for your replay.

You cannot have a Membership 2 Pro plugin installed on "Wordpress.com" site so I assume it is the self-hosted WordPress site. Let me then explain about Membership 2 plugin:

The Membership 2 Pro plugin is used to let you control access to your content. When you protect a content (a post or page or a part of it) with a membership, that protected content cannot be accessed by anyone except admin of the site and users that are members of that membership.

That doesn't matter whether these users were already registered on the site or not. They will have to either sign up for a membership (that doesn't however create any new WordPress account, they still have the same username and password etc) or be assigned a membership by you/admin.

After a subscriber pays for a subscription, is their beginning paid level or date range set manually by the site administrator?

Subscription period is always counted from the moment the payment was registered. This usually also means that access to content is given at the same moment. However, there's a special type of a membership called "Dripped" membership. You can use it to reveal some content over time (e.g. set some posts to become available for a newly signed up member after 10 days from sign up date etc). Still though, it's about access control while subscription period is from the payment moment.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
