Does anyone have experiences using Adminimize plugin with WP4.1

I'm wondering if anyone has been using the Adminimize plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/adminimize/ on WP 4.1? The plugin says that it is compatible up to 3.6-beta3 and I am leery of installing it.

    Hey @jdsullivan411,

Hope you're enjoying your weekend

I must say that I don't have experience with Adminimize plugin but what worries me I that last update was over year and a half ago. WordPress had some major changes since then so there might issues with using this plugin but can say for sure without testing.

Can you tell me which changes are you looking to make so maybe we can find something that will work for you?
You can have a look at our Ultimate Branding plugin to see if it will get the job done.

And some suggestions from wordpress.org that are up to date:

The Ultimate Branding plugin has nothing to do with Adminimize. What Adminimize does it it allows me to restrict what parts of the post and page dashboard appear to users, based on their WP role. I recently had a challenge with Contributors adding too many tags and tags misspelled to the tags. So I've automated the tagging process with a different plugin and to hide that widget from the dashboard of anyone in roles at Editor and below. I'm using WP-CMS Post Control to achieve this. I know I can use a capability-manager as well, but the WP-CMS Post Control makes sure they do not even have to see the widget in there. It works ok, but there are other parts of the post dashboard that Contributors do not need to be bothered seeing or using, and the Adminimize has more options for restricting discrete parts of the dashboard. I agree with you, the age as well as the compatibility being "only up to" 3.x plus the major recent changes to WP makes me concerned about causing major issues by trying it. Last week I managed to crash and restore a network in all of 10 minutes and I do not want to go through that frightful time again anytime soon.

    Hey @jdsullivan411,

Hope you had a great weekend

Have you considered hiding certain bits of you dashboard by simply adding CSS code, this can be done by using Ultimate Branding.
Maybe combining hiding with CSS and one of the plugins suggested in my previous comment you can accomplish what you wanted.

Also, it seems that the Adminimize developer is active on plugin support so you can check if there is anything you could be worried with using outdated plugin.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
