Does coursepress pro allow front end creation?

Hi guys,, how can I create a website using the plugin where I can sell access so teachers can upload and sell their own courses...I mean I don't want to have to create all courses so is there a front-end for this?

    Hey there.

That's a great idea having teachers add their own courses, you could do this through the power of WordPress Multisite, our Pro Sites and CoursePress. I'm sure you know where Pro Sites is, but just incase:

Each teacher would have their own sub domain or folder on your site depending on how you install WordPress. They could even have their own course domain name using our Domain Mapping plugin:

And if you let them have MarketPress they could even sell their own courses too:

In a multisite environment you could let them create the courses free and take a commission through Paypal Adaptive payments in MarketPress and then charge them a subscription in Pro Sites for non-commission gateways, premium themes, plugins, etc.

All of the adding and editing of courses by tutors is done on the backend, doing it this method will mean only they can see and edit their own courses. If it's branding you want so they don't know it's WP you could use something like Easy Blogging:

That way the backend won't look like WordPress.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions or need further information then please do let us know and we'll be more than happy to assist.

    Have a fantastic day!

    Hi @BePresence,

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. If you go to CoursePress Pro->Settings->Instructor Capabilities you will see a series of options for instructors (teachers).

One of the capabilities (enabled by default) is 'Create new Courses'. So what you need to do for a user to be able to create new courses would be to designate them as an instructor.

There is the obvious way to do this, add them as an instructor to any of your courses (this could be an induction course for instructors).

Or, a feature that we did add, but not yet documented, is that you can go to a user's WordPress profile and 'Grant Instructor Capabilities'.

To come back to your original question in the subject... currently the creation will still be via the WordPress dashboard and not the front-end.

    Awesome suggestions @Timothy Bowers.

I will add a couple of feature requests to the roadmap for us to consider in a future release (1. Front-end Course Creation, 2. Selling instructor capabilities).
