I'm just about to launch a new version of a website and it is going to be launched on a new domain and a new server.
I will tell the webmaster of the old website to create a 301 redirect for the old domain.
in addition I copied all links from the old domain and created 301 redirects to the new domain (because the link structure will change) like this and will put it in the htaccess file on the new server:
Redirect 301 /olddomain.com/page.html http://newdomain.com/page/information/
and in addition I will go to google webmastertools and put there the information aswell, that the domain has changed.
Is that the right procedure - especially the htaccess part?
Thanks and greetings
