Domain Mapping and Defender

Domain mapping is not properly redirecting from HTTP to HTTPS, and when accessing to HTTP it displays a message from Defender:

The administrator has blocked your IP from accessing this website.

    Hi Nathan ,

    Hope you're doing well today!

I gave a look on your site and after clear the page caching on Hummingbird I was not able to replicate the issue anymore. The mapped domain is properly redirecting from HTTP to HTTPS and the Defender's message is not displayed anymore.

Can you please check this on your side to confirm it's working as expected now?

    Cheers, Luís

So today I was contacted by a customer who said their site was blocking people. Yesterday I verified it was working, when I used Edge and Mozilla (not sure why it would just work in Chrome) and I typed the domain name without the https://, it was blocking again. I cleared the cache and it appeared to be working. I can't run the risk of not knowing when it will "work" and when it won't without knowing what is causing it to stop.

Sorry, I don't think my last post was clear so let me recap correctly.

Thursday verified domain mapped correctly to the https://
This morning (Friday) I was contacted by a customer who said the site was blocking again. Verified that it was, in fact, blocking again and not redirecting to the https://
Cleared the cache and tested which it then started redirecting to https:// even if I put in the http://

Not sure what is happening or why it stopped working between yesterday and today.

UPDATE: So I cleared it this morning and it was working. About an hour ago, I was contacted by my customer again saying it was blocking again and sure enough it was. I've disabled my page cache on Hummingbird and it is working right now so we will see.

    Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the update, however this is an odd behaviour. It's tough to say what's causing the issue without seeing the issue live. Please let us know how the test goes, and if you think cache is what's causing the issue, if possible, please do share a screencast of the issue, so that it would give us a better understanding on how we could troubleshoot this ahead.

    Regards,
    Nithin

Well right now hummingbird has been disabled and I haven't had any issues with it. Sorry about the delay, it's been pretty crazy lately. If I re-enable it, I'm worried it will stop working and I'll be getting calls, so we would need to schedule a time when you guys could enable it and monitor it to see the behavior.

I mean you guys did see the behavior when I first contacted you. Even in this thread you see the issue was resolved by clearing the cache... then later the issue was back and was fixed when the cache was cleared, and with the cache disabled its not having the same issues.

    Hi Nathan,

I do understand you, and seems like this seems more like an issue within Hummingbird cache. Could you please try the following patch in Hummingbird, and check whether you are able to replicate the same behaviour again?

You'll have to replace the attached file, in the following path:
    /wp-content/plugins/wp_hummingbird/core/modules/class-module-page-cache.php

Once done, please make sure you have "Clear full cache when post/page is updated" option enabled, under Hummingbird Pro > Caching > Page Caching > Settings, and also you have enabled "Automatic option for File Change Detection as shown in the screenshot:

Please let us know how that goes, so that we could give a closer look, if needed.

    Regards,
    Nithin

So I apologize about the delay, to be honest, I can't risk the site doing that right now while a few of my clients are in their busy time and cannot risk it going goofy. Can you tell me if that patch as already been implemented in the updates that have come out recently?

    Hi Nathan,

Hope you are doing good today.

Can you tell me if that patch as already been implemented in the updates that have come out recently?

I do understand, I'm afraid, the current fix hasn't been released in Hummingbird yet, you'll have to apply the patch manually. Our developers are working on couple more fixes, and once it's done the plugin would be released asap. At the moment, I'm afraid, there isn't any exact ETA, we are hoping it would be soon.

    Regards,
    Nithin
