[Domain Mapping] Domain mapping https speed

Speed is very important. If it is possible to avoid a database query...it should be especially if it can occur on every page load. One of those queries that could be avoided is checking for https. There are setting in domain mapping regaurding https that are being checked. However in my set up, i have all sites using https so I dont need this query.
you could set up a wp-config.php setting that the user could set to hard code this choice so that this database query doesn't need to be made. It seems small...but on a multi-site these queries add up and are unnecessary. I have done some of my own hard coding, but this could be made much easier if it was build into the plugin and I didn't have to modify things.

Thoughts....? Pretty easy to execute on.

    Hello Ben

This is the feedback from the developer:

Perhaps he should simply use caching, particularly persistent object caching for now. That would be the simplest workaround. We have to check the DB value to know what schema to use, so them caching that is the best way to cut down on DB queries while still allowing proper functionality.

Also, we think your suggestion could be a nice addition too, so I am marking this as a feature request

    Have a nice day!

And my response is...that response is disappointing and sad.

Feature can be added by a simple if statement to see if a variable in the wp-config is set...to then use that variable and not not query the db on every page load.

expecting everybody to set up caching...is above the wordpress audience's "paygrade"...and additionally performance optimizations shouldn't rely on 3rd party plugins...

Lets not rely on workarounds that could then bring on additional complications....lets strive for a little more excellence given that people are paying for this plugin.

    Hello Ben

When I said that I have marked as a feature request, I meant, official feature request and the developer can work on that. But adding something has a procedure, we can't add just now. It has to follow the procedure, further investigation and proper QA testing

Hope you understood  Have a nice day!

    Cheers,
    Ash
