Speed is very important. If it is possible to avoid a database query...it should be especially if it can occur on every page load. One of those queries that could be avoided is checking for https. There are setting in domain mapping regaurding https that are being checked. However in my set up, i have all sites using https so I dont need this query.
you could set up a wp-config.php setting that the user could set to hard code this choice so that this database query doesn't need to be made. It seems small...but on a multi-site these queries add up and are unnecessary. I have done some of my own hard coding, but this could be made much easier if it was build into the plugin and I didn't have to modify things.
Thoughts....? Pretty easy to execute on.
