Domain Mapping SSL Support Feature Request

Hi,

Domain Mapping is a great plugin.

You have already integrated eNom for domain purchasing and mapping.

However, why not integrate their SSL reseller ability too.

People can 'upgrade' their site to be SSL, the domain mapping plugin goes off to enom and gets the instant SSL certificate.

Meanwhile, it would be the domain mapping plugin that handles all the http to https redirect stuff.

It is also not part of the usage instructions for the domain mapping plugin page. I have tried to find instructions to implement multisite with domain mapping and found these convoluted topics:

https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/multi-site-domain-mapping-and-ssl

Any +1's ?

Cheers,

Johnny

    Hey again Johnny!

I know that this has been looked into quite a bit by the developers here, and is likely still be looking into.

Domain Mapping and SSL's don't seem to play that nice together.

Here is a good read on using SSL on one subsite of a multisite: http://halfelf.org/2014/ssl-for-one-domain-on-multisite/

I will definitely move this to the features under domain mapping. If it's possible to make getting an SSL more simple than it get's my +1

Another issue here is getting a dedicated IP for each ssl required site.

Almost all services similar to a multisite will use a wildcard SSL and force the original domain whenever the SSL link is required.

Anyways, thanks again for your suggestion here Johnny!

    Cheers,
    Tyler

Looking forward to having this working with Domain Mapping's next release...

The enom ssl reselling feature might be useful if using SNI catches on at all in the face of Google's recent 'HTTPS Everywhere' announcement. Blissfully ignorant of the details, I give my +.9 as well

Also, that was a great post linked to above. Thanks for that!

I've spent some time working away at this...

      +1 full on

Currently have tivism network running all https via CloudFlare (essentially using SNIaaS)... could in future move to a host with native SNI and provide SSL service as described above

      Cheers, Max
