Domain Mapping Subfolder Install

This is my first Multisite install on a VPS.

I installed Multisite in a folder wphems. I am using your Domain Mapping plugin.

At the domain registrar I have set the * and WWW A records of itsapinz.com to point to the IP address of wphostengine.com

In your plugin I have tried to map itsapinz.com to the site http://wphostengine.com/wphems/itsapinz/ but the plugin automatically adds folder directory to the mapping so it shows http://itsapinz.com/wphems/ mapped to http://wphostengine.com/wphems/itsapinz/
How can I get this to eliminate the install folder mapping so the root domain maps to the proper site?

Hi there and welcome to the WPMUdev Support Community!

Wow! Brave! First multisite installation and you choose the option that's only days old and therefore has the fewest amount of people with experience. Nice!

First off, I don't think you need the * anywhere. I believe this only pertains to subdomains, and you have subdirectories. Also, in what you outlined above, the * wildcard subdomain would be done on wphostengine, not itzapinz.com. Wphostengine is the server that houses your files and database.

As far as removing the install directory, I'm not sure that it can be done, but I think it is part of the recent 3.5 update. I just don't have any specifics and there is little literature available on it yet.

Let's keep in touch on this.

    Cheers,
    Paul
