Hello, I would like to duplicate a WP Theme and move to another domain. I have successfully utilized the Duplicate Theme Plugin, however, I do not know how to move to the other domain http://www.sptvlive.com, once it is copied

    Hi Frederick Howard

I hope you had a wonderful day and Merry Christmas.

You said "I have successfully utilized the Duplicate Theme Plugin" and I assume you are using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-theme/

As this is a third party plugin, I don't have much idea about it's coding and functionality. So I downloaded the plugin, installed in my test site and found that this plugin duplicates any existing theme on your site. For example, if you have "Twenty Fifteen" theme on your site, you can make an exact clone of the theme with a new name.

Now as you said "I do not know how to move to the other domain http://www.sptvlive.com, once it is copied" I'm not quite sure what you are trying to move. If you want to move the new copied theme to a completely new site located at "http://www.sptvlive.com", then simply login to the current site with FTP, go to the "wp-content/themes/" folder and there you will see a folder with the new theme name. For example, I've duplicated "Twenty Fifteen" theme and gave "TFNew" as the new theme name. So when I went to my Themes folder, I found a new folder called "TFNew" there. Please check the attached screenshot.

Now if I want to move this new copied theme to my new site http://www.example.com, then I'll login with FTP to example.com, then go to "wp-content/themes" folder and simply upload this "TFNew" folder to there. Then I'll be able to access this theme inside example.com WordPress Dashboard.

Please let us know if you have any further confusion. We will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Hi Frederick Howard

I hope you had a wonderful day.

Can you please mention what type of functionality you are talking about?

Suppose, if your theme support blog feature, if you copy the theme to a new site, it will support blog feature there too. But suppose you have custom CSS for some sections, custom Backgrounds and some other modifications on your Upfront theme. These settings are stored in database. So even if you copy your duplicated theme, these modifications won't be gone to the new site automatically. In your new site, you have to make those modifications again.

Please let us know if you have any further confusion. We will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
