[e-Newsletter] Email newsletters by group

We are an elementary school and we are looking for software that would allow the Principal and PTO Board, for example, to be able to send newsletters to the entire school membership list but also we have classroom coordinators that we would like to just be able to have rights to email certain subsets of the entire school (grades or classrooms). We already have a WordPress site for managing school projects and volunteers so a WordPress plugin would fit us perfectly if it has these features. Do you know of a plugin or combination of plugins that could do this for us?

It looks like a good plugin, however, does it solve the issue of only allowing certain members to send to certain groups – “classroom coordinators that we would like to just be able to have rights to email certain subsets of the entire school (grades or classrooms)”? Or is there maybe a way to create a page that has specific access rights and use something like Gravity forms to send the newsletter only to a specific group? If that works I would have to create a page for each sender access group but that’s OK.

One other question – WPMU Dev is great about supporting Buddypress – does this plugin support Buddypress groups?

    Hello Randy ,

does it solve the issue of only allowing certain members to send to certain groups – “classroom coordinators that we would like to just be able to have rights to email certain subsets of the entire school (grades or classrooms)”?

No, there is no feature like that. If the user on the site has access to e-Newsletter they can send to all the groups there.

Or is there maybe a way to create a page that has specific access rights and use something like Gravity forms to send the newsletter only to a specific group? If that works I would have to create a page for each sender access group but that’s OK.

I think that would be possible, however, it will require a quite amount of custom coding to achieve that. There are no front-end elements in the e-Newsletter that would allow this in an easy way I’m afraid.

One other question – WPMU Dev is great about supporting Buddypress – does this plugin support Buddypress groups?

:slight_frown: I’m sorry but no. This one doesn’t support BuddyPress groups.

    kind regards,

    Kasia
