E-Newsletter with groups from BuddyPress?

I'd like to use E-Newsletter to send to different groups within our organisation, and I'm thinking of setting up BuddyPress to manage the groups, but I'd then want to have the Newsletters take their lists of users from the members of those BuddyPress groups. Is it possible to do this with the E-Newsletter plugin? Ideally, there would be a link for the admin of a BP group that says "Newsletter" so that they wouldn't need to be a site admin to send emails.

If I'm barking up the wrong tree, what better ways are there for our users to manage the sending of nice HTML emails to groups of people?

    Hello Iain,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

It should be possible to allow BP admins manage newsletters if only these admins would be assigned any kind of specific user role. If this not happens "out of the box" you may want to use a User Role Editor plugin for this:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/

On "eNewsletter" -> "Settings" -> "Permissions" page you may assign capabilities so this should let you allow those users manage newsletters.

You can also create groups with e-Newsletter. There's also a simple tool built-in that allows you to automatically add user to a default e-Newsletter group upon registration. This however is not synchronized with BuddyPress groups and there's currently no feature that would create such a synchronization that you've described.

It may be possible though with some custom coding but this is way beyond the scope of this forum. Therefore you may want to ask a question at our "Jobs&Pros" job board here:

Please note though that we (as a WPMU DEV staff) are not answering there, neither we're offering any services.

    Kind regards,
