[Easy Social Share Buttons] HELP! - Facebook not scraping image to share

I'm having trouble specifying the image for a post to share to Facebook. I've been working on this post trying to get it to work but keep running into problems

I have the image specified using a plugin "Easy Social Share Buttons" . The plugin adds a panel to the post editor where I added the image, the title and excerpt.

I created a Facebook app and added it to the Easy Social Share Buttons settings. It's on and approved. https://developers.facebook.com/apps/2300841846853890/settings/basic/

But when Facebook scrapes the page its only pulling the title and excerpt, not the image. I keep getting these errors: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fstage.enduringepilepsy.com%2Fwhy-to-be-picky-about-your-doctor%2F

Image Unavailable
Provided og:image, https://stage.enduringepilepsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Picky.jpg could not be downloaded. This can happen due to several different reasons such as your server using unsupported content-encoding. The crawler accepts deflate and gzip content encodings.
Missing Properties
The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id

What am I missing? I want the tall image I have on each post shared to Pinterest and I have wide images I want to add like this to each post specifically for Twitter/Facebook. Any help appreciated. Support is OPEN. Thanks.

    Hello Enduring Epilepsy (Katrina)

Which plugin are you using for SEO? Usually SEO plugin has options to set image og tag for social share.

I am not sure how you set, but I can see the image set for og tag is https://stage.enduringepilepsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Picky.jpg and which doesn't exist. That's why, facebook can't show any image. If you check the above URL, you will see the image is not there.

So, please fix the image, or fix the URL of the og tag, it should be okay in facebook as well.

Let us know how it goes. Have a nice day!

    Cheers,
    Ash

Don't have the SEO on yet. The tags are set via the same plugin referenced before - Easy Social Share. See screenshot.

Doing this in a bit of an order that I didn't want to have the SEO in the way until the end:

      * featured image (tall primary)
      * add the secondary image & ensure it was being scraped by social media
      * then I figured on SEO

Is there a problem by using the plugin for the Facebook OG tags? Should I absolutely turn on SEO now? I would be using SmartCrawl (its installed not turned on yet). Will that overwrite or duplicate?

    Hello Enduring Epilepsy (Katrina)

Again, the image is selected for the og:image tag does not exist:

Then I tried to login at your site, and I am getting the following message:

    Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Would you please check, fix and let me know so that I can login and try some settings on smartcrawl social meta?

    Cheers,
    Ash

The reason for the 503 would be because I was just on WPMU chat about Snapshot. Having issues with it exhausting my server despite the changes Abdul made so the yes - the 503 is coming up.

I removed the wide image after you said about it last time. The problem you're missing:

All of the posts have an og:image designated regardless... as you can see in screenshot, but Facebook isn't even scraping that image

I don't care what image you use for right now. I just want there to be 2 images. 1 tall for pinterest, and 1 wide for facebook/twitter (which I will likely hide) and to figure out how to make it work with Facebook.

    Hello Enduring Epilepsy (Katrina)

Yes, I can see the issue. I have even disable easy social and tried smartcrawl but no luck.

It seems, a conflict is taking effect. Would you please disable all other plugins except smartcrawl and enable default theme, and then check the post in facebook? If you see the image by then, please enable other plugins one by one and at the last, enable your theme and find out which one is creating the conflict.

Let us know how it goes.

    Cheers, Ash
